Solar remote sites
Sites with no mains power: a solar panel, the MPPT Charger and the Battery Pack 18650 run a Node UIO and its radio, on DIN rail in one enclosure.

How it works
Panel, charger, battery, controller
The panel feeds the MPPT Charger, which charges the Battery Pack and powers the Node UIO from its 3 A load output. The pack's temperature sensor goes to the charger, which keeps charging inside safe limits.
To save power, the Node UIO switches its HATs off between reports and can sleep, waking on any digital input. Outputs DO1 to DO4 hold their state through sleep.
For reporting, the CAT HAT's LTE-M and NB-IoT suit sites that send a little data often; the LoRa Mesh HAT links nearby nodes without a SIM each.
