Controllers and HATs for DIN rail
Start with the Node UIO and add only what the site needs: a cellular or LoRa mesh HAT for communications, a mains supply HAT, or the MPPT Charger and Battery Pack where there is no power. Every product is available now, with a published schematic.

HATs
Stack what the site needs
HATs plug onto two 8-pin headers on the Node UIO. Fit one cellular HAT per stack; the LoRa Mesh HAT can share a stack with it.
Solar power
Power for remote sites
The MPPT Charger and Battery Pack are separate DIN-rail modules that run a Node UIO from a solar panel.
How it fits together
One stack per site
- HATs stack on the Node UIO through two 8-pin headers carrying power, I2C, a UART and both RS485 pairs. They are not Raspberry Pi HATs.
- One cellular HAT per stack: CAT for LTE-M and NB-IoT, LTE for Cat-1.
- The LoRa Mesh HAT sits on RS485 and shares the stack with a cellular HAT, so one node can be the gateway for the rest.
- The PS AC/DC HAT runs the whole stack from 85-500 VAC.
- On solar: panel to the MPPT Charger, MPPT to the Battery Pack, and the MPPT's load output to the Node UIO.
