About
About ModBee
ModBee is modular industrial IoT: a controller, the boards that stack on it, and the software that runs on them, designed and built in New Zealand by MR Electrical and Automation.

Where it came from
MR Electrical and Automation builds controls for farms, pumps and industrial plants. ModBee grew out of that work, and ModBee controllers already run pumps on farms. The hardware is made to be wired by electricians and programmed in the tools control engineers already use.
The name
Mod is for modular: every board stacks or plugs in, and a site gets only the parts it needs. Bee is for the honeycomb: nodes that link up in a mesh and share their data, over cable, radio or cellular.
How we work
Every schematic and library is published, the protocols are the standard ones, and the data goes to the systems you choose. The firmware and libraries are free for personal use, with commercial licences available.
