Radio HAT
HAT LoRa Mesh
Long-range mesh radio between nodes
Links Node UIOs across a farm, a plant or a water scheme without cabling or a cellular plan. Each HAT carries an Ebyte E52 LoRa mesh module: serial data sent at one node arrives at another, with no coordinator or gateway to set up.

Overview
What it does
By default the HAT sits on the Node UIO's RS485 CH0, so BeeBus or Modbus runs over the radio as it would over a cable. A solder bridge moves it to CH1, or wires it straight to the UART.
The mesh runs in the Ebyte module's own firmware, in transparent mode. Channel and transmit power are set with AT commands.
The module ships set to 868.125 MHz. Set the channel to the 915-928 MHz band before use in New Zealand or Australia.
Features
- LoRa mesh with no coordinator
- 915-928 MHz for New Zealand and Australia, up to +22 dBm
- Bridged to RS485 CH0 (default) or CH1, or wired direct to the UART
- Can share a stack with a cellular HAT, so one node can be the site's gateway
- On-board RS485 transceiver with selectable 120 Ω termination
