Pump controller

One OpenPLC program for pre-wired Node UIO boxes. The installer sets the site up entirely from a 4.3-inch touch panel: the I/O map, sensor types, options, protections and connectivity, with no PLC changes on site.

What it covers

One program, set up on site

Every site is a saved configuration of the same program, so a new site is set up from the panel rather than written from scratch.
  • Emptying or filling, on a level transmitter or floats
  • One or two pumps: standby, assist or booster, with alternation
  • VSD speed control: fixed, pressure, level, flow or manual, with PID
  • Protections, each set to off, warn or trip: dry run, low and high pressure, no flow, failed sensor, maximum run time, no run feedback, supply and high-high level
  • Starts per hour, minimum run and off times, run hours and service hours
  • Stirrer cycles, irrigation outlets with proven valves, and wet-weather defer
  • Daily totals for 31 days, reported to SCADA over Sparkplug B
The panel

Set up and run from the touch screen

The panel is an 800 x 480 touch screen on RS485, talking to the Node UIO over BeeBus. It shows only the equipment the site has, runs the operations, keeps the alarm list and its history, and puts settings behind two PINs.

Sample setups

Ready-made configurations to start from:
  • Farm floats
